OUaT Episode Review - 19 - The Return
I know I’m probably in the minority, but I really, really loved this episode. No, really. I keep breaking into an idiotic grin when I think of moments from it. I’ll put it behind a cut, though I will warn that it does get long and babbly.
HE HAS BAE’S FOOTBALL ON A PEDESTAL IN HIS SHOP. MY HEART.
YES, yes, yes, one of the best things about this episode was that it finally explained what the hell was going through his brain during Skin Deep in a way that made his previously stupid illogical choices suddenly make perfect sense. “I will love nothing else. I will find a way.” ”It’s quite simple, really. My power means more to me than you.”
It’s a much better reason than what fandom had come up with - that he was afraid that Regina would hunt him down and kill him and Belle if his curse was broken… This is so much better of a reason, and so much more heartbreaking.
And both Belle and Baelfire called him a coward before leaving him alone…
I just cannot fucking deal with this character, my heart is beyond broken.
