I went out to the wilds, round a fire, in the wet, in the rain, in the woods, and I read that book, and I read it again and again, and I found out that I had got the part, obviously, and when I did meet George, the book was literally twice the size and smelt of stale woodsmoke, and I remember he grabbed it and said “What the hell have you done to my book?” and remember saying, “George, this is how you’re meant to read it, round a fire at night, in the drizzle.”

You never know. I would say if there was any chance on Game of Thrones it would be the mandolin, because it’s part of the lute family, but would the Hound be picking up a mandolin? My god, he’d have to be throwing his sword away. Will he ever throw his sword away? I don’t know, maybe the readers know that, I don’t know.

It’s making me so mad, I feel like a little frustrated baby. Like, I can understand packaging it in a way that not everybody sees it, because who would want to put audition tapes on display? Especially if the audition was better than what was in the final product. I totally get that, it’s totally cool.
But I cannot understand not immediately revealing the whereabouts for the few people who bought it just for this. No one is finding this game fun. No one. It’s like paying for a phone but waiting a month to get the activation code.
I don’t believe for a minute that those westeros.org losers “stumbled” on the key to unlock the eggs; they had to have been told how to do to it so they could review them. It’s just that level of difficulty. The menus are too simple, there’s just nothing there.

I can’t wait until someone makes a quality fanvid overlaying the audio from Rory McCann’s audition onto clips from the show.
Because I’m going to immediately download that fanvid and edit the episode by removing Littlefinger’s story time and replacing it with the audition.
And I won’t watch the Littlefinger version ever, ever again.

Guys, I love that he found it interesting what people wrote online about his character and he found it helpful to play that character. I love that he’s read the books. I love it. Love it. Love it. I picture him reading through those huge tomes in the wilderness and my face is exactly this gif. And I don’t know when it will stop being this gif.

Access: That’s amazing. All right, so The Hound has an interesting relationship with Sansa. How is that going to work, going forward, as he sees Joffrey grow in power?
Rory: He’s going to be in conflict, I think. I think he wants to look after Sansa and totally understands her position, but he’s also in a position [of] — if he steps in, he is risking his life… I think in the first season you can see with Sandor and Sansa, that there’s a frustration with Sandor trying to get through to Sansa that it’s not all fairytale and true knights and there’s so much badness in the world. But, by the end of the first season, obviously she’s seen… her father having his head cut off. So she’s maybe seen the light now, but I think there’s still a frustration of trying to [get her to] see the reality of the whole situation. It’s giving advice to Sansa for survival, basically.
AccessHollywood.com: Joffrey is the king as we begin Season 2. How is that going to change things for The Hound this time around?
Rory McCann: Well, I don’t think The Hound likes Joffrey, but he’s doing his job looking after him. The power, as you can imagine, will be going to [Joffrey’s] head and the real bully will be coming out, and it will be raising all sorts of memories for The Hound — the way that he was bullied. And you’ll be seeing the relationship between Sansa and Joffrey deteriorate — seeing the bullying that’s going on and again, The Hound will be able to link that to his childhood as well.

Speculation has been rampant that the extras are excerpts from audition tapes… and that’s spot on, at least for the ones we’ve found. Speculation also ran that since the producers suggested we might see it, that Jason Momoa’s audition tape where he famously performed a Hawaiian version of the haka would be on the Blu-ray. That, too, is spot on; Momoa is fierce. What’s great about the other segments is that they all feature lengthy dialog taken almost word-for-word from the books, so we’re seeing things that weren’t even necessarily in the shooting scripts, much less filmed. There’s one particular audition that Sansa and Sandor fans will particularly love… and which made us both nearly jump out of our skin at a certain point!
